Welcome to the Herbert Chitepo Law School!We are more than a centre for legal education. We are a training ground for ethical, innovative and globally competitive legal professionals. We are committed to developing law students into ethical, skilled and forward-thinking professionals who will strengthen justice, advance good governance and contribute to economic development nationally, regionally and globally. The legal profession is evolving rapidly. Thus, lawyers today must be critical thinkers, problem solvers and leaders who can engage with pressing global issues like digital transformation, intellectual property, global health, climate change, trade, human rights and governance. At Herbert Chitepo Law School, we embrace this reality. We combine exceptional legal training with hands-on experience to produce well-rounded graduates ready to serve society with excellence and integrity.
Our programmes go beyond traditional legal education. Through Clinical Legal Education (CLE) activities like mooting, simulations, debates and trial advocacy; legal research and industry partnerships, students gain real-world exposure that prepares them for careers in litigation, policymaking, corporate law, academia and beyond. Our staff, drawn from diverse legal and academic backgrounds, are committed to nurturing talent, advancing legal research and shaping the next generation of legal thought leaders. Named after Herbert WP Chitepo, a visionary lawyer and national hero, the Law School symbolises justice, ethics, resilience and intellectual courage.
